Being local says nothing about quality on its own, so every list is ranked by rating, adjusted for how many reviews stand behind it.
Not a Chain ranks Australian businesses that are not part of a chain or franchise network by their Google rating, adjusted for how many reviews stand behind it.
Not a Chain is run by the Not a Chain team and has been published since 7 October 2026. It lists 92,914 businesses in 6,225 lists, with figures as of October 2026.
Ratings, review counts and opening hours come from Google Business Profiles. The year a business started comes from its own website.
